"Angels" is a provocative artwork that critiques the stance of majority of institutionalized religions on sexuality, addressing sexual activity, desire, the morality of sexual expression, and gender roles in relationships. Depicting two angelic figures engaged in an intimate act, the painting challenges conservative and often hypocritical views on sexual desire. The figures' ambiguous gender – neither clearly female nor male – criticizes imposed rigid gender roles and societal structures in general. White swan feathers blur the line between divinity and sexuality, arguing that healthy sexual expression is not only natural but divine, as human desires are fundamental to our nature.
